The funeral and burial services are carried out by the Municipalities. If there is any suspicion that death is unnatural, the situation is reported to the judicial authorities and no burial permit is issued. Similarly, if there is suspicion that death is from an infectious disease, the situation is reported to the Provincial Health Directorate and no burial permit is issued.
If the relatives request the burial permission, the funeral is washed in the gusulhane, shrouded and put in a coffin in accordance with the religious rules.
The funeral transport vehicle is provided by the Municipality for the proper and easy transportation of the funerals. The provision of coffins and similar materials together with the funeral vehicle may be transferred to a private company by the Municipality.
If the funeral is to be sent out of the country, according to the transportation by sea, air or railway, a road permit is issued by the doctors of the municipality and a funeral pass is obtained from the Provincial Health Directorate.
