What is Vegan

Vegan diets consist of vegetables, grains, nuts, fruits, and other foods made exclusively from plants. Many argue that we must make a conscious effort to reduce the consumption of animals and animal products for our health and our planet. Whether vegan or not, a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and plant-based foods are a good starting point for a healthy lifestyle. Studies show that the average vegan diet is higher in vitamin C and fiber and lower in saturated fat than a meat diet, all of which are beneficial. Additionally, statistics include much less saturated fat in this diet regarding an increased risk of cholesterol and heart disease.
