Ambulances are the personnel who have the necessary medical and medical equipment to perform emergency medical interventions in case of an emergency, at the scene or in the ambulance. Patients or wounded who do not require immediate medical attention are transported by means of patient transport. Intensive care ambulances are used if advanced monitoring and treatment of patients or injured persons is required during transplantation.
The Regulation on Ambulances and Emergency Health Vehicles and Ambulance Services issued by the Ministry of Health in 2006 regulates the principles for the establishment, operation and supervision of ambulance services and ambulance services. This regulation also explains the technical and medical features of ambulances, emergency health vehicles and patient transport vehicles.
According to the regulation, ambulances are classified as follows according to the mode of transport:
- Land ambulances (emergency aid ambulance, patient transport ambulance, intensive care ambulance and specially equipped ambulances according to the purpose of use)
- Air ambulances
- Marine ambulances
Air ambulances are airplanes and helicopters, which are used for patient transport and emergency medical intervention. Marine ambulances are used for the same purpose and have similar equipment, but have obtained work permit from the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications.
